Liev Schreiber Was Almost In 'Logan'
We have all tried to collectively forget that X-Men Origins: Wolverine was a thing that happened and now that Logan has come and gone we have all finally received the X-Men movie we've always wanted. However, Logan was not a perfect movie and one of the things that made the movie fall a little flat was the final confrontation with X-24. While the clone idea worked well for the first confrontation at the house the second one felt a little flat. The idea of someone else stepping in for that fight could have been Sabertooth aka Victor Creed. It would have given that final fight a much more personal edge with Logan and Victor being siblings.
It seems we almost got that as Liev Shreiber said during an interview with Variety.
There was an invitation early on from Hugh [Jackman] and [director James Mangold] and I would have loved to work on it. It was very difficult given "Ray Donovan's" schedule, and I think they went a different direction as well with story.
Logan was almost a perfect movie but that final fight fell a little flat. While it was emotionally charged the appearance of Sabertooth could have made it better and even more character driven.
