Mario And Sonic At The Rio Olympic Games Confirmed For Wii U And 3DS

We are coming up into another Olympic Games year (again?), which means one thing. Mario and Sonic are going to be fighting it out for gold medals once again in one of the bizarrest crossover franchises that refuses to die.

The game was announced during the Japanese Nintendo Direct that showed today. It was noted that both Golf and Rugby would be making an appearance in next year games, which should at least be mildly interesting.

There is no release date yet, but you would assume it will launch nearish to the Olympics which start next summer. I actually don't hate these games. They are are fun family game and there is a novelty to seeing Mario destroy Sonic in a 100 meter dash. It does seem like there might be a better use for the crossover though.
