Nikolaj Coster-Waldau Stars In The Silencing Trailer, Coming This Fall
The Silencing is a new thriller starring Game of Thrones favorite Nikolaj Coster-Waldau as a reformed hunter (what exactly is that) who teams up with a sheriff (Annabelle Wallis) to track down a killer who possibly took his daughter five years earlier. It is heavy subject matter, and the trailer looks intense. The film was supposed to debut as part of SXSW this past March, but obviously, that did not happen. The Silencing is directed by Robin Pront, from a script from Micah Ranum. You can see the trailer for the film down below, along with the synopsis and the poster.
The Silencing Could Be The Most Intense Film Of The Summer
"A reformed hunter (Nikolaj Coster-Waldau) and a sheriff (Annabelle Wallis) are caught in a deadly game of cat and mouse when they set out to track a killer who may have kidnapped the hunter's daughter five years ago. Also starring Hero Fiennes Tiffin. On DirecTV July 16, 2020. In theaters, On Demand and on digital August 14, 2020." Not much is given to us about the film from that or the trailer, which is a great thing. I am excited to go into this one blind.
Also, man does Nikolaj pick some soul-crushing projects. Jamie Lannister is one thing, but check out Shot Caller as well. That is as depressing as it gets, and he is not afraid to go to some truly dark places as an actor. He and Wallis seem to have good chemistry, and The Silencing looks like it could, in fact, be one of these sleeper hits of the summer with so little to steal attention away. Look for this one on DirectTV first on July 16, followed by VOD streaming OnDemand, and in select theaters on August 14.
