Now Nonplayer Gets A Movie Deal
Weeks before it was released, Bleeding Cool was so assured of the success of Nate Simpson's Nonplayer from Image Comics that we were very deliberately asking if other new Image titles would be "the next Nonplayer". And on its release it became one of the hottest comics in the country.
Of course we also knew we wouldn't see hide nor hair of the second issue until at least November.
Now Variety reports that Nonplayer is the latest comic to get a movie option, with Warners signing up for the film rights, with producers Roy Lee of The Ring and David Heyman of Harry Potter.
Varity says that;
"Nonplayer" is a sci-fi/fantasy story about Dana Stevens, a brilliant young woman who retreats from the dismal workaday world of the future into the digital fantasy realm of Jarvath, where she's a fearless warrior.
Which is actually more information than you got from the comic. Which is not a problem, Nonplayer was a critical success on all levels. Now it has cinema to take. And of course that difficult second issue. Here's a preview of what was…
