A Poster And Another Trailer Teaser For The Tom Cruise Mummy Movie

Universal Pictures this morning has released a new poster for their Tom Cruise starring version of The Mummy. Set to hit theaters June 9th, they have also released  one of those dreaded "teaser for the trailer' videos that everyone seems to love.

Personally, this movie is one of the more intriguing ones coming out this summer. I am a huge Universal Horror fan, and it done right, a shared universe with all the various stable monsters would be pretty amazing. the problem is getting it right. I like Tom Cruise as an actor, so his casting does not bother me that much, especially when he is going to do some kind of crazy-as-hell stunt like he does in the Mission Impossible series. Look, a plot synopsis!:

Thought safely entombed in a tomb deep beneath the unforgiving desert, an ancient princess (Sofia Boutella of Kingsman: The Secret Service and Star Trek Beyond) whose destiny was unjustly taken from her is awakened in our current day, bringing with her malevolence grown over millennia and terrors that defy human comprehension.

From the sweeping sands of the Middle East through hidden labyrinths under modern-day London, The Mummy brings a surprising intensity and balance of wonder and thrills in an imaginative new take that ushers in a new world of gods and monsters.

The film also stars Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance , and Russell Crowe. Man, seeing him ham it up is always a great time as well. They are starting to talk me into this.

Look for the full trailer on Sunday.
