Rick and Morty season 3

As soon as the trailer for season three of Rick and Morty hit everyone instantly became obsessed with Pickle Rick. They had good reason; it was genius and made absolutely no sense. Fans have spent plenty of time trying to figure out the context for that one and now that we have one it turns out there isn't much context. Rick turns himself into a pickle to get out of family therapy and that's it.

Rick gets washed away in what is called a "Fievel Goes West" scenario which leads to one of the greatest moments in the entire show; Rick acquiring himself some limbs. The specifics of the scene don't need to be said because they shouldn't be spoiled but the creative describes how they came to the final look we ended up getting. We hear that there are probably 100 different versions of Pickle Rick before they decided on the final version.

Harmon also comments on one of guests this week, Susan Sarandon, and why he thinks she agreed to a guest spot.

It's violent, it's very personal, and and Susan Sarandon is in it. Probably because her kids a fan. I don't think she was like, "Oh, what should my next project be?"
