RUMOR: Scripts Delays for The Batman Could Push Back the Start Date

It took a long time but for a little while, it looked like the DC universe finally got everything in order. Aquaman and Shazam! were both hits with decent to great reviews and they have Wonder Woman 1984 on the horizon. There were rumors that several projects were moving along nicely and one of the big ones was The Batman directed by Matt Reeves. The movie has been in flux but now that Ben Affleck has left the role there seemed to be more of a concrete direction. There were even rumors saying that the production would start as early as late 2019. However, a new rumor from Justin Kroll of Variety says that there are some script issues and production might get pushed back to early 2020.

Kroll doesn't say whether or not this is going to impact the June 25, 2021 release date but the six-month delay will still give the production a year and a half to shoot and complete post-production. That isn't a ton of time but it might be enough to get by. If there is going to be a delay we should be hearing about it before the fall.
