Ryan Reynolds [Hearts] 'Wonder Woman' As It Passes 'Deadpool' At The Domestic Box Office

The superhero market is a competitive one and there is this idea that the competition extends to the stars of the movies as well. When Wonder Woman came out people were surprised when actors, directors, and writers for Marvel were excited that the movie did so well. The thing people fail to realize is that a superhero movie doing well is good for the entire market because the idea of fatigue only seems to come up when one of these movies is bad.

No one is having more fun being a superhero than Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool. The sequel is currently filming but when word came down this weekend that Wonder Woman had passed Deadpool's domestic box office of $360 million (Wonder Woman hit $368 million) Reynolds took to instagram to congratulate his fellow hero.

The caption is exactly what you would expect from Reynolds but it's still a cute way to tell a colleague congratulations. Wonder Woman is still doing extremely well despite its stiff competition this weekend. Despite it being a month since the movie came out it still brought in $9.8 million and came in 4th place against Edgar Wright's Baby Driver, Despicable Me 3, and Spider-Man: Homecoming. Wonder Woman has a worldwide box office total of $746 million not far behind Deadpool's $783 million. It could pass Deadpool quite easily if it keeps this momentum up and judging by the numbers? Reynolds isn't the only one who [hearts] Wonder Woman.

Summary: Before she was Wonder Woman she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained warrior. When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, she leaves home to fight a war to end all wars, discovering her full powers and true destiny.

Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins, stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, David Thewlis, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. Check it out in theaters now.
