The Muppets Score Big On The CW Despite Being Beaten By Vampires On The Big Screen

The Muppets couldn't beat the worldwide phenomenon that is The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part One on the big screen, but a repeat of an aging TV movie with Kermit, Miss Piggy and co has instead given American TV network The CW smash ratings.
In 2008's The Muppets Christmas: Letter to Santa, Gonzo accidentally diverts three letters to Santa and talks Kermit and friends into delivering them personally to the North Pole. TV By The Numbers reported that a recent repeat of the TV special averaged 2.4 million viewers, a best for The CW since December 2010, and was their best for children 2-11 (rating 1.3) since September 2007.
2011's big screen outing for our favourite puppets featuring Jason Segel and Amy Adams slid comfortably into second place over the Thanksgiving weekend. If only it hadn't been for those pesky vampires…
