Tom Holland Praises Tom Hardy, Says 'Venom' Could Be "Very Cool"
Things are a little confusing when it comes to the Spider-Man movies right now. We have Spider-Man: Homecoming coming out next month and the rumors that Tom Hardy's new Venom movie could shoot as early as the fall. The first thing they told us was that the Venom movie and Silver and Black wouldn't have anything to do with Tom Holland's Peter Parker but now we're being told otherwise. There is a possible cast list out there that could hint at various other members of the Spider-Man mythos but we don't know how accurate that actually is.
Holland is doing a ton of promo work for Spider-Man: Homecoming and in an interview posted to Youtube (via Screen Rant) Holland talked about Hardy and the upcoming Venom movie.
"It's very exciting. I think Tom Hardy will really play that character with, you know, a lot of energy, a lot of life. It can be a very cool movie."
We don't know which version of Venom they are going for but whatever they do end up going it's nothing something Holland is going to be involved in.
"It's not something I know about or involved in. As of now, I'm just focusing on Spider-Man 1 and a little bit of Avengers — but I don't know anything about that movie."
We don't know how this version of Venom is going to work or even which universe it is going to be in. These two Spider-Man titles are interesting but they could fall apart if Sony decides put the cart before the horse yet again.
Summary: Following the events of Captain America: Civil War (2016), Peter Parker attempts to balance his life in high school with his career as the web-slinging superhero Spider-Man.
Spider-Man: Homecoming, directed by Jon Watts, stars Tom Holland, Robert Downey Jr., Marisa Tomei, Donald Glover, Zendaya, Tony Revolori, and Michael Keaton. Swing on down to your local theater and check it out on July 7th.
