Wonder Woman: What Gal Gadot Loves About Diana

There is a lot to love about Wonder Woman. There's a reason we all fell in love with the character after she'd been on screen for about .5 seconds. It's the same reason we all collectively proposed over the summer: she's layered. There are plenty of things that make a character compelling, one of those things is seeing different sides of that character, and Diana has plenty of sides. Gal Gadot says in the special feature of Wonder Woman's home release (via Cinema Blend) that it's the fact that Diana isn't perfect that is the thing she loves most about the character.

What I love about this character is she's not perfect. She allows herself to show her flaws. She's this open character. So I think this is something that I relate to. I'm a person who's very open. I love people. I wouldn't say that I enjoy showing my flaws but I don't mind showing my weaknesses to the outside world because each and every one of us has their own weaknesses and flaws. So for me it's natural, and the more we feel comfortable with it the more lovely it is.

Gadot is one of the rare celebrities out there who isn't afraid to show imperfections. In a world of people taking hours to make themselves look perfect for an instagram picture, Gadot has posted pictures of herself looking exhausted, with no make-up, just like any other mom.

It's a level of honesty we don't see in Hollywood social media very often. That kind of honesty comes through in her performance of Diana and is one of the many reasons she does such a fantastic job with the role.

Summary: Before she was Wonder Woman she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained warrior. When a pilot crashes and tells of conflict in the outside world, she leaves home to fight a war to end all wars, discovering her full powers and true destiny.

Wonder Woman, directed by Patty Jenkins, stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, David Thewlis, Robin Wright, and Connie Nielsen. It's available on VOD today and on Blu-ray on September 19th.
