Delightful! WWE's Ultimate Deletion Will Take Place at the Hardy Compound

Over the weekend, we told you about WWE's cryptic hints that something called "Ultimate Deletion" was in the cards for the feud between Woken Matt Hardy and Bray Wyatt, and we speculated, as most probably did, that this could be a sequel to Hardy Compound events filmed for Impact Wrestling such as Final Deletion and Total Nonstop Deletion. On Monday Night Raw last night, Hardy confirmed this would be the case, officially inviting Wyatt to settle their differences at the Hardy Compound in a video that included familiar shots of the compound, as familiar "characters" like Hardy's drone Vanguard 1 and the dilapidated boat.

Presumably, this match will take place at WrestleMania, and it looks like it will bring back many of the aspects of "Broken" gimmick that made it such a sensation in 2016. Jeff Hardy is also rumored to be ready to come back from injury soon, and he could theoretically make an appearance. Of course, it remains to be seen whether WWE can maintain the right balance between the campiness of the Hardy Compound films and its own "slick" production values. WWE's attempt to imitate a Hardy Compound match between The New Day and the Wyatts while Hardy was still in Impact wrestling fell prey to WWE overproduction, as did the House of Horrors match Wyatt later had with Randy Orton. Hardy's own character has suffered a similar fate since debuting in WWE.

On the other hand, WWE recently hired Jeremy Borash away from Impact Wrestling, and Borash, who was involved in the creation and filming of Impact's Broken saga, could be the missing piece of the puzzle needed to make the gimmick work in WWE.
