AEW News: Kris Statlander Injured, New Being the Elite
The Women's Division in AEW has suffered another blow. Kris Statlander is injured with a torn ACL and will be out of action for a while, the Galaxy's Greatest Alien revealed on Twitter. Statlander tweeted, "Since the news is out. I told you I'd dive on Kip again and dammit I did. But in doing so, I ended up with a high-grade tear in my ACL. Yes, I need surgery. Yes, I'll be out of the ring for a while. I'll do my best to still show up on your TVs as much as I can." It looks like the injury happened at last week's AEW Dynamite tapings. A torn ACL injury can take six months or more to recover from.
Statlander joins Britt Baker on the injured list, and the absence of both stars puts a pretty big dent in AEW's Women's Division. Baker is expected to be back sooner and has continued to appear on television from her wheelchair. In fact, Impact Wrestling star Joseph P. Ryan had a suggestion for the two stars while they're on the injured list. Ryan tweeted, "I vote for you and @RealBrittBaker to do a cinematic match in wheelchairs at a hospital." You know, it could probably work. If the Stadium Stampede match worked, why not that, right?
In other AEW news, the latest episode of Being the Elite is up on YouTube. The episode is titled Bring it Home, and the description reads, "The crew film AEW Dynamite in Jacksonville, Florida. Matt Hardy teaches more inside terms using his Broken Brilliance. Hangman Page tries to pay back Private Party $12." You can watch the episode below.
