Cody Rhodes Talks Making TBS the Undisputed Destination for Wrestling

AEW star and Executive Vice President Cody Rhodes hosted a media conference call ahead of this weekend's AEW Double or Nothing PPV, and the first thing he addressed was the launch of AEW's long-awaited "third hour," AEW Rampage, August 13th on TNT. Rhodes also discussed that show and AEW Dynamite moving to "the Mothership," TBS, and how he hopes to reestablish the Superstation as the undisputed destination for pro wrestling.

"I'm really excited for Rampage on a personal note," Rhodes said. "One of the things I'm looking forward to seeing with Rampage is: we have a very large roster. We're looking to expand our roster even further. So to be able to get people off the bench, some very, very talented people, to spread the wealth. It's incredibly exciting. August 13. TNT. We're gonna be on at 10:00 p.m. Eastern."

"And then Rampage is going to move to the mothership, to the Superstation, TBS starting January 1st, 2022," Rhodes continued. "Rampage is definitely gonna complement Dynamite, and it will serve as the third hour of programming where we can further our storylines and showcase this roster. A big part of this is establishing, or better yet, reestablishing TBS as the world's undisputed destination for wrestling. And with the three best hours of wrestling on the planet joining their network early next year, I think we're on track to do just that. I am very excited for Rampage. I got to see some of the art for the logos and things of that nature and the digital assets just the other day. And it's just really cool to see us able to expand so quickly."

AEW Double or Nothing takes place on Sunday, May 30th, and will feature a full capacity crowd at Daily's Place in Jacksonville, Florida. Headlining the card will be a triple threat match, with Kenny Omega defending the AEW Championship against Pac and Orange Cassidy. Also at the show, The Inner Circle will face The Pinnacle in the second Stadium Stampede match. Dr. Britt Baker will challenge champion Hikaru Shida for the AEW Women's Championship. The Young Bucks will defend the AEW Tag Team Championships against Jon Moxley and Eddie Kingston. TNT Champion Miro will defend his belt against Lance Archer. Sting and Darby Allin will team up against Ethan Page and Scorpio Sky in Sting's first in-ring match in AEW. Cody Rhodes will take on Anthony Ogogo. Hangman Page will face Brian Cage in a one-on-one match. Multiple AEW stars (including at least one surprise) will compete in a Casino Battle Royale to win a future shot at the AEW Championship. And on the Buy-In pre-show, NWA Women's Champion Serena Deeb will defend her title against the first AEW Women's Champion, Riho. You can find more info about how to watch the show here.

A prophecy claims that in the comic book industry's darkest days, a hero would come to lead the people through a plague of overpriced floppies, incentive variant covers, #1 issue reboots, and super-mega-crossover events. Unfortunately, nobody can tell when the comics industry has reached its "darkest days" because it somehow keeps finding new lows to sink to. No matter! Jude Terror stands vigilant, bringing the snarkiest of comic book and pro wrestling clickbait to the undeserving readers of Bleeding Cool.
