Cursed Preview Images Focus on Nimue's Friends and Foes
With writer/artist Frank Miller (The Dark Knight Returns) and writer/producer Tom Wheeler's (Puss In Boots) Cursed is ready to reimagine the Arthurian legend told through the eyes of Katherine Langford's Nimue beginning Friday, July 17, the streaming service is following up Thursday's trailer and date announcement with a slew of new preview images and shine more light on the teenage heroine with a mysterious gift who is destined to become the powerful (and tragic) Lady of the Lake. Here's a look at some of the friends who will help (and foes who will oppose) Nimue as she seeks out her true destiny:
Cursed is a coming-of-age story whose themes are familiar to our own time: the obliteration of the natural world, religious terror, senseless war, and finding the courage to lead in the face of the impossible. Jon East (Killing Eve), Zetna Fuentes (One Life to Live), and Daniel Netthiem (The Hunter) are dividing directorial duties, with Fuentes executive producing the first two episodes of the 10-episode series, and Wheeler serving as writer and showrunner. Miller and Wheeler will executive produce, with Alex Boden (Sense8) producing and Silenn Thomas serving as co-executive producer.
Netflix's Cursed also stars Devon Terrell (Barry), Gustaf Skarsgård (Westworld, Vikings), Peter Mullan (Ozark), Lily Newmark (Temple, Sex Education), Shalom Brune-Franklin (The State, Our Girl), Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead, Medici), Sebastian Armesto (Poldark, Broadchurch), Emily Coates (Flack), Catherine Walker (Versailles, The Delinquent Season), Billy Jenkins (The Crown, Holmes & Watson, Humans), Bella Dayne (Humans, Troy: Fall of a City), and more.
