In an interview with Steven Moffat, Peter Capaldi and Pearl Mackie for Bleeding Cool, Peter Capaldi talked about what he'd like to do after he leaves the role.

"I love Doctor Who and playing The Doctor but clearly when that time comes there are lots of other roles I'd like to have a crack at. I'd love to go back to the stage for awhile."

Capaldi began as a stage actor and his work has included playing John Lennon, Fabian in Twelfth Night, Robbie Ross in The Judas Kiss and Professor Marcus in The Ladykillers.

Can you hear the sound of a hundred West End casting agents' heads being turned?
