Echo Official Preview: Maya Lopez Gets the Job Done in Brutal Fashion

Maya Lopez gets the job done in brutal fashion in this clip from Marvel Studios' five-episode Alaqua Cox & Vincent D’Onofrio-starring Echo.

Tomorrow's the day, folks. That's when Marvel Studios' "Marvel Spotlight" presents the first TV-MA entry in the MCU with the five-episode Alaqua Cox & Vincent D'Onofrio-starring Echo. With fans still buzzing about the show tying Netflix's Daredevil into the Disney+ series' canon, we have a sneak preview to pass along that offers another example of the kind of Hell that Cox's Maya Lopez plans on inflicting on anyone – and she means anyone, Kingpin (D'Onofrio) – who gets in her way.

Here's a sneak preview of what's in store this Tuesday – followed by a rundown of what we already know about the "Marvel Spotlight" series Echo:

Echo: Winderbaum on Netflix's "Daredevil" Part of MCU Sacred Timeline

"I can say that up until this point, we've been a little bit cagey about what's Sacred Timeline, what's not Sacred Timeline. That was born of, frankly, a period at the studio where we were like, 'We have to stick the landing with the vendors.' It was another part of the company developing the Netflix stuff. We were aware of what they were doing, they were aware of what we were doing, but there was a lot to balance anyway," Winderbaum shared with ScreenRant. "But now that some time has passed, now that we see actually how well integrated the stories are, I think that I personally, Brad Winderbaum, would be confident in saying it is part of the Sacred Timeline." We have a feeling that Winderbaum may have answered one question – and opened the door to two dozen more. Here's a look at a clip from the interview:

Joining Cox and D'Onofrio for the five-episode streaming series are Chaske Spencer (Wild Indian, The English), Graham Greene (1883, Goliath), Tantoo Cardinal (Killers of the Flower Moon, Stumptown), Devery Jacobs (FX's Reservation Dogs, American Gods), Zahn McClarnon (Dark Winds, FX's Reservation Dogs), and Cody Lightning (Hey, Viktor! Four Sheets to the Wind). Now, here's a look at the teaser that was released this past weekend, followed by a look back at the series overview & official trailer – with Marvel Studios' Echo hitting Disney+ & Hulu screens on January 9th at 6 pm PT/9 pm ET:

Streaming exclusively on Disney, the origin story of Echo revisits Maya Lopez, whose ruthless behavior in New York City catches up with her in her hometown. She must face her past, reconnect with her Native American roots and embrace the meaning of family and community if she ever hopes to move forward.

Episodes of the series are directed by Sydney Freeland (Navajo) and Catriona McKenzie (Gunaikurnai). Executive producers include Kevin Feige, Stephen Broussard, Louis D'Esposito, Brad Winderbaum, Victoria Alonso, Richie Palmer, Jason Gavin (Blackfeet), Marion Dayre, and Sydney Freeland – with Jennifer L. Booth and Amy Rardin co-executive-producing.
