Is DC's Legends Of Tomorrow Looking At Chris Rock To Play John Stewart?

One of the questions still unanswered on DC's Legends of Tomorrow is whether we'll get to see Mari McCabe (Megalyn Echikunwoke) any more this season. With Amaya (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) already part of the team and Kuasa (Tracy Ifeachor) as one of the bad guys, having Mari would make a lot of sense and the executive producers want her to appear — but wanting and making schedules work are another story. It has now been announced that while she won't appear, we might get to see "her boyfriend", which is raising some eyebrows about what that might mean.

Vixen

Marc Guggenheim updated EW.com on the efforts to bring her in:

Unfortunately, no movement at the moment, but we remain hopeful.

Mari is, of course, the fist Vixen we've met having starred in the two season animated series that was recently combined into a single 'movie', as well as her making a live-action appearance in season four of arrow that featured Damien Darhk (Neal McDonough) as the villain.

Phil Klemmer, another executive producer, added:

But you might meet her boyfriend.

And with that, let the speculation begin. That is such a vague line for an episode that the Legends team is still breaking. Does he mean the character's boyfriend or the actress's? I can't off the top of my head think of who Vixen was dating in the comics, but I seem to recall that she had something going with John Stewart, AKA Green Lantern, in the Justice League animated series. Is that what Klemmer is referring to? Or, if it's the actress… she's dating comedian Chris Rock, who would be an interesting guest start on the series. Or… hey, maybe it's both.

Maybe Phil Klemmer is trying to tell us that they want to cast Chris Rock as John Stewart in the Arrowverse. Let's get that rumor going around…
