Luke Harper Requests WWE Release on Twitter
It's Tuesday, you know what that means… WWE Superstar (or is that former WWE Superstar) Luke Harper has requested a release from his WWE contract on Tuesday, posting a statement to Twitter as an announcement.
"As of this evening, I have requested a release from WWE," Harper's statement read. "The past 6 years have been a simply, amazing journey around the world and back with lifelong friends and family. I am proud of it all and proud to say I shared the ring with my co workers."
"This decision, as difficult as it was, feels right for myself and WWE," the statement continued. "My goal in the future is to continue to grow as a performer and person and continue to make my family proud."
"Thank you," Harper concluded. "From the top to the bottom of WWE. Thank you to the fans for your undying support. Thank you everyone."
Of course, just because Harper has requested his release doesn't mean WWE will grant it, especially with the company living in constant paranoia of its stars going to AEW. Former WWE Women's Champion Sasha Banks has also seemingly requested her release after WrestleMania, except Banks has done so not through a direct Twitter release but by no-showing work and passive-aggressively unfollowing WWE on social media and following AEW instead. Who's to say which way is best? We hope both of them manage to end up at a company where they feel respected for their talent.
Probably should have @ed them, bro.
