Lily James on the Importance of Pam & Tommy

"I think these violations of privacy happen way too often — and the way that the media responds and us, as a society, respond is often so awful, particularly toward women," James said. "There are these huge double standards, women are torn down and reduced… So I think we really need to look at that." As far as the upcoming yet-to-be-titled Netflix documentary, "It's amazing," James said. "I can't wait to watch it." Pam & Tommy, which also stars Seth Rogan, Nick Offerman, Larry Brown, and Taylor Schilling, follows the duo at the height of the careers when a disgruntled contractor broke into their home, stole the couple's sex tape, and subsequently made it available online.

Neither Anderson nor Lee was involved with the project according to co-showrunner Robert Siegel. While Lee was complimentary of the series, Anderson had no intention of seeing it. The series producers chose to reference other sources, notably the 2014 Rolling Stone article. Fronting Anderson's documentary are sons Brandon Thomas Lee and Dylan Jagger Lee along with producer Brandon Thomas with the handwritten note "My life / A thousand imperfections / A million misperceptions / Wicked, wild and lost / Nothing to live up to / I can only surprise you / Not a victim, but a survivor / And alive to tell the real story." on the documentary announcement post.
