Starry, Ice Spice Look to Bring Lemon-Lime "Vibe" to Super Bowl LVIII

Starry and rap artist Ice Spice are teaming up to bring the lemon-lime soda's vibe to the big game with its very first Super Bowl ad.

PepsiCo's new lemon-lime soda is ready for the global sports spotlight in a very big way – and it enlisted a certain Grammy-nominated platinum-selling princess of rap to guarantee that it makes an impact. As Las Vegas prepares to be the center of the pop culture universe when the NFL's Super Bowl LVIII rolls into town on Sunday, February 11th, a lot of companies are preparing to dazzle us with flashy ads and commercials with big names. But none of them are a vibe – and none of them are bringing the kind of "spice" that Starry is. Of course, we're talking about the charming & charismatic hip-hop artist Ice Spice (who helped Pete Davidson kick off the 49th season of NBC's Saturday Night Live). That's right – Ice Spice is set to join the dynamic duo of Lem & Lime for the soda's very first Super Bowl commercial – not a bad way for Starry to celebrate its one-year birthday, with the brand first hitting the scene in January 2023. "I'm hyped to star in the first-ever Starry Super Bowl commercial! Trust me, Starry is a vibe," said Ice Spice in a statement when the news was first released – leaving us with a feeling that "vibe" is going to be a key theme in what hits our screens next month. Here's a look at the promo image that was released with the news – followed by a look back at our thoughts on Ice Spice's SNL performances.

Saturday Night Live: Ice Spice Performs "In Ha Mood" & "Pretty Girl"

We were big Ice Spice fans even before the SNL season opener, so all she did was reaffirm why we're fans with two excellent performances to help kick off Season 49. And with all due respect to Davidson – who introduced the first song – Ice Spot got a serious upgrade in that department when it came to the second song. Yup, her buddy Taylor Swift popped onto our screens for the second intro:
