"The Masked Singer" Season 2 Costumes: Let the Guessing Games Begin! [VIDEO]

As we learned from Season 1 of FOX's The Masked Singer, sometimes the costumes are even bigger than the celebrities wearing them – and they also carry some clues about the person inside. As FOX gradually reveals new contestants, we're eager to start hedging our bets – and the second season is looking to go big in some very flashy ways.

The judges give us a sneak peek behind the scenes in the video below: Jenny McCarthy warns that Cheetah remains "gender neutral" for a few weeks – which makes the spotted feline's identity even harder to glean. Ken Jeong, Robin Thicke, and Nicole Scherzinger boast bigger celebs competing – and calling for tighter security measures.

With all of that said, this season will be held up to a much higher standard. The goofy show that began as a cheesy guilty pleasure has turned into something greater than we expected: a national and global sensation:

In fact, The Masked Singer earned an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Costume Design! Marina Toybina's beautiful work is on display at the Paley Center in Los Angeles. Check out Season 1's masterpieces from July 31 to September 29.

"The Masked Singer is a costume designer's dream, with ultimate creative freedom to make imaginative and incredibly original pieces," says costume designer Marina Toybina. "Each costume is both a moving piece of spectacular art and a complete engineering feat—the ability to walk and sing in each one is a must!"

"The Masked Singer" Season 2 Costumes

Can you catch any clues yet? I'm holding out on hard guesses until I see these players in action. Mannerisms can be very telling. I'm already picking my favorite costumes, but they won't necessarily be my favorite contestants. They look even more bold, stunning, creative and funky than they were last season.

Based on an international format, and already a viral phenomenon with over half a billion fans worldwide, THE MASKED SINGER features celebrities facing off against one another with one major twist: each singer is shrouded from head to toe in an elaborate costume, complete with full face mask to conceal his or her identity. With each performance, the host, panelists, audience, viewers and even the other contestants are left guessing who is singing behind the mask. Ranging from Grammy Award winners to legendary athletes, and everything in between, the singers may attempt to throw the crowd off of their scent, while keen observers might pick up on tiny clues buried throughout the show. One singer will be eliminated each week, ultimately revealing his or her true identity. It's not a "whodunit," it's a "whosungit!"

I can't wait until the new season begins!

The Masked Singer Season 2 premieres Wednesday, September 25 at 8/7c on FOX!
