Women's Tag Team Title Triple Threat Match: WWE Backlash Live Report

WWE Backlash is live, and after a pretty epic promo for The Greatest Wrestling Match Ever, the opening match saw the Women's Tag Team Title triple threat title match kick off the show. Alexa Bliss/Nikki Cross take on The Iconics and champions Sasha Banks and Bayley. Bayley and Sasha won the titles from Alexa and Nikki a couple weeks back, and the three teams came into WWE Backlash feuding with each other for over a month. All three teams have held these titles, with The Iconics being the only one time champs in the match. After a spirited promo by the. champs, they enter the ring and the triple threat began.

WWE Backlash Women's Tag Team Title Match

Nikki, Billie, and Bayley start us off in the match, with the "crowd" firmly behind Cross. She gets in the early offense before being taken down. All three go at it a bit with Banks and Bliss getting quick tags, and all three teams enter the ring and stare each other down. Peyton Royce gets in some good offense against Banks, and the two go back and forth for a bit before agreeing to team up on Bliss. A pretty ugly botch on a pinning attempt by Royce almost gave herself and Bliss a concussion. Chaos ensues as all six women begin to brawl.

Cross is tagged back in as Bayley re-enters the match . She goes after Royce first. Kay is tagged in and she has some words with Bayley. She hits a big suplex on Bayley and strikes a pose. It is very distracting with the plexiglass all over and the WWE Backlash sign reflecting all over. Bayley and Banks hit a big tag move on Kay for a two count. Cross takes them both out and Bliss gets a hot tag. She is running things right now and hitting some impressive offense. Her and Banks start brawling on the apron and Royce hits a bad looking dive to take out all six women on the outside.

The Iconics double team Banks in the ring but are joined by Nikki and Bliss. Royce and Bliss are all alone and Bliss hits Twisted Bliss on Royce, but Banks slides in and rolls up Bliss for the three count and the win. Chaotic match with some cringy spot, but overall a good start to WWE Backlash.

Winners: Sasha Banks and Bayley Dos Straps
