Extraction 3 Is On The Way With Hemsworth, Elba Starring
Netflix has officially greenlit Extraction 3. Idris Elba will join Chris Hemsworth in the third film in the franchise.

Extraction 3 is a go at Netflix. Chris Hemsworth will be back as Tyler Rake, this time joined by Idris Elba, who made a cameo in Extraction 2. Sam Hargrave, who directed the first two films, is back for the third. The script is written by David Weil. Producers include Anthony Russo, Joe Russo, Angela Russo-Otstot, Michael Disco, and Ari Costa for AGBO, as well as Hemsworth and Benjamin Grayson for Wild State. Also producing are Hargrave, Patrick Newall, Eric Gitter, and Peter Schwerin. Steven V. Scavelli will be executive producing. The first Extraction film set viewing records at Netflix when it debuted in 2020, with the second film following in 2023.
Extraction 3 Is A Welcome Sequel

The franchise is based on a graphic novel titled Ciudad, written by Ande Parks. Just this month, a brand-new comic series written by Parks, Tyler Rake: An Extraction Story, was released by Ignition Press. One issue has been released as of this writing.
Extraction and its sequel were extremely well-made action films, and a third one is a nice surprise. I actually think Tyler Rake is my favorite of Hemsworth's performances. Watching him go at it on screen with Elba for an entire film with Hargrave directing should be a recipe for success. Hargrave has such an amazing eye for capturing action scenes. I wish he were getting more work behind the camera, but I will take what I am able to get.
