A Sailor's Story Is Joined By The Bozz Chronicles As Dover Books Excavate The Eighties
We reported on the weekend about Dover Books republishing a long-lost series of Marvel graphic novels, A Sailor's Story, by Sam Glanzman, with a never before seen ten page story and foreword and introductions from Larry Hama and Max Brooks.
To support that, the publisher has created a page celebrating Glanzman's life. Now eighty-nine years old, he may be the oldest living American comic book creator with a new comic out that he's written and drawn.
As for Dover Books, which specialise in bringing out of print books back into print in style, this is a start of a new line of graphic novels which also include, oh goodness me…
By Venom co-creator David Michelinie and Brett Blevins, originally published by Marvel in the eighties as part of their creator owned Epic line. About an alien stranded in Victorian London and getting caught up in pulp action, with Bret Blevins redrawing the issue that John Ridgeway wrote as a fill in, with Ridgeway's blessing.
For those enjoying the Paternoster Gang in Doctor Who, this is totally up your street.
Okay, folks, this is who Dover Books are. What else do we want them to try and bring back into print of that vintage?
