Arrow Hits New All Time High
The crossover helped The Flash get its best ratings since the second episode of the season… but it helped Arrow get its second highest ratings since the series debuted. Over 3.86 million viewers turned in and even more impressive, the show pulled a 1.4 in its target demographic of 18 to 49… which is the highest the series has done in three seasons. The last new episode of Arrow scored a 0.9 in its demographic.
A lot of the discussion on-line has been about the tonal differences between the two shows. The Flash being much lighter and hopeful while Arrow is darker and gritty. Not something lost on the producers who even had the characters talk about the differences in their cities as an analog for the shows. In a way, Flash and Arrow are the CWVerse version of the Superman and Batman relationship.
But what the producers may be able to take away from the crossover's numbers and the comments on-line is that allowing Oliver Queen to smile every once in a while is not a bad thing. And putting up a place for Barry Allen to hang his costume in the Arrowcave was a smart move.
