AfterShock Sends Care Packages to Comic Book Stores
AfterShock is a relatively new comic book publisher with some seriously impressive names for its string of creator-owned mini-series, including Animosity and Babyteeth.
At the ComicsPRO retailer advocacy event held in Portland last week, they discussed a number of new retailer-focused initiatives, including care packages being sent to stores to show off the AfterShock range, and for signings are store visits. Like Marvel and DC they are launching an exclusive retailer Facebook group and E-newsletter, alongside fan-centric social media.
What they call a flexible cover program, easier access to variant covers, whether exclusive to the retailer in question or more generally available.
They are also to promote retailers in the back of AfterShock titles and are planning giveaways and contests that depend on customers being in store with retailers
The company also reminded retailers of its first Free Comic Book Day comic for this year's event, Relay #0, heralding a series that they describes as "a strange marriage of There Will Be Blood and The Fifth Element set against the deceptive promise of a better future."
