Gerard Way's Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion Coming in October
Making all those Doom Patrol delays look like a shining tribute to punctuality, emo heartthrob Gerard Way will reunite with Gabriel Bá, Nick Filardi, and Nate Piekos to produce the long-awaited third volume of Umbrella Academy. Umbrella Academy: Hotel Oblivion was first announced by Way himself at San Diego Comic-Con in 2009, but what's a decade or so between friends? For the following few years, the comic was hotly anticipated by readers until Way put speculation to rest by tweeting in 2013:
But at 2017's Comic-Con, Dark Horse announced that the book would be coming in 2018 during the Diamond Retailer Lunch. And now, while it is shockingly still technically 2018 (though cutting it close), the book is really for serious definitely for sure without a doubt totally going to come out this October. And to prove it, Entertainment Weekly has obtained some honest-to-god pages from the comic.
So it's really happening, and the date is October 3rd. Stake your life on it.
