Danai Gurira in Talks to Join the Cast of Godzilla vs. Kong
We just got our first look at Godzilla: King of the Monsters, but that hasn't stopped Legendary from looking ahead. According to The Hollywood Reporter Legendary is looking to bring in Danai Gurira, best known for her roles on The Walking Dead and in Black Panther, into the cast. She has allegedly entered into final talks to take on an unknown role in the movie though sources say it is a lead role.
Legendary Entertainment's Godzilla vs. Kong will be a crossover event putting together two of the most popular movie monsters of all time. It is being directed by Death Note filmmaker Adam Wingard. The film will follow Godzilla (2014), Kong: Skull Island (2017) and the upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters, which is set to open May 31, 2019.
At the moment we also know that Julian Dennison, from Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Deadpool 2, is also set to star. We don't have any further details about this movie, but the setup should become more obvious once we see Godzilla: King of the Monsters next year. Godzilla vs. Kong is set to be released on May 22nd, 2020.
