GW Pre-Orders: Take Some Skulls, add a few Skulls, Put a Skull on Top…
This week's pre-orders from Games Workshop are all about the Chaos factions, with Abaddon the Despoiler leading the pack of great new minis for Warhammer 40,000!
He's back, and he's looking better than ever. Abaddon the Despoiler's new model will be available to pre-order next week, and what a model it is! Bringing perhaps the most important villain to life in stunning detail, this new kit even gives you options to customise him for yourself, with an optional cape and three choices of head.
Abaddon will be backed up by a bunch of new Chaos Space Marines!
Just as awesome-looking as the models from Warhammer 40,000: Shadowspear and Warhammer Quest: Blackstone Fortress, these models have been made with customisation in mind, allowing you to build units of close-combat raiders, long-ranged fire teams and anything in between. If you're looking to field smaller squads, there are enough parts inside to build two units of five, each with a special or heavy weapon, Chaos Icon, and appropriately sinister-looking Aspiring Champion.
I imagine just a box of these guys will give you enough figures for a pretty keen Kill Team squad!
There's a lot of versatility at play with the Chaos Space Marines, too. The kit has been designed for maximum kitbashing potential!
Fittings on this set are compatible with much of the Chaos Space Marines and Space Marines ranges, allowing you to go crazy with conversions and head swaps to make your Legion your own. Maybe you'll mix in Mk III armour to make some Iron Warriors, or stir in parts from a Tactical Squadto make some more recent renegades. Indeed, the diversity within the set is such that you could probably build a Legion of Chaos Space Marines from the kit with each model looking different.
There's also a new terrain piece available, feast your greedy eyes on The Noctilith Crown:
Taken as a Fortification, the Noctilith Crown is more than just an awesome centrepiece, but a tactical lynchpin for the Heretic Astartes, giving nearby units an invulnerable save and making it easier for Chaos Psykers to cast their fell magics…
That's an awful lot of great new stuff for chaos players! All of these new releases, as well as a new Vigilus campaign book, are up for pre-order now! Check with your local game store or independent Games Workshop stockist to get yours squared away!
