How Marvel Comics Will Encourage Retailers to Up Order on Powers Of X, House Of X and More

This is how Marvel Comics is goosing its upcoming launch numbers with added discounts if retailers order high on new launches compared to previous orders. What is the effect of these discounts? Well, it may increase sales. Some retailers will have already ordered at these numbers and will be very happy to revive the additional discount. Some retailers may look at ther numbers and realise that if they up their numbers by a handful of copies, they'll end up paying less money overall. And some retailers will discover that they could have sold more copies than they thought and will up orders on subsequent issues. Some will be minded to use the added copies for samplng purposes with their customers. And some retailers may think that Marvel knows best, order at the full discount and be stuck with a bunch of copies. But at least they won't have paid that much for them…

How Marvel Comics Will Encourage Retailers to Up Order on Powers Of X, House Of X and More

Here are the current deals:

  • Retailers get different added discount levels on both of Powers Of X #1 and House Of X #1 if they order it at 300%, 250% or 200% of their numbers on Uncanny X-Men #17.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Marvels Epilogue #1 if they order it at 200%, 175% or 150% of their numbers on Web Of Venom: Cult Of Carnage #1.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on History Of The Marvel Universe #1 if they order it at 200%, 175% or 150% of their numbers on Symbiote Spider-Man #2.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Amazing Spider-Man #25 if they order it at 200%, 175% or 150% of their numbers on Amazing Spider-Man #21.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Amazing Spider-Man #24 if they order it at 300%, 250% or 200% of their numbers on Amazing Spider-Man #20.HU.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Loki #1 and on Valkyrie: Jane Foster #1 if they order them at 200%, 150% or 100% of their numbers on Thor #11.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Guardians Of The Galaxy #7 if they order it at 200%, 175% or 150% of their numbers on Guardians Of The Galaxy #5.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Black Cat #1 if they order it at 350%, 250% or 200% of their numbers on Amazing Spider-Man #16.HU.
  • Retailers get different added discount levels on Silver Surfer: Black #1 if they order it at 300%, 250% or 200% of their numbers on Guardians Of The Galaxy #5.
  • And retailers get different added discount levels on Incredible Hulk: Last Call #1 if they order it at 150%, or 100% of their numbers on Immortal Hulk #17.
