Bandai Namco Announces "Tales of Arise" at Xbox's E3 Showcase
It may have leaked a bit ahead of the conference, but Bandai Namco announced Tales of Arise, the latest for their Tales series at the Xbox E3 showcase. Like most entries in the Tales series, this latest RPG combines flashy anime action combat with exploration and character-focused cutscenes.
While this is the next game in the series after 2017's Tales of Berseria, it isn't a direct follow-up. But it does include some of the quality of life updates that made Berseria stand out against its older brethren. And, we hope, Arise will have even more modern gameplay features to fully bring the series into the modern era of gaming, while still having that nice retro SuperFamicom feel.
According to the game description from Microsoft, "The Tales of series returns with "Tales of Arise," a story driven RPG following the journey of two people, born on opposing sister planets, each looking to change their fate and create a new future. Featuring a new cast of characters, intense action based combat and classic Tales of gameplay mechanics, experience a tale of duality, justice and the fight for freedom." And that fits in pretty nicely with what Kotaku reported earlier this week about the leaks.
