Matthew Rosenberg is Giving Away Rare Hawkeye Variants in Charity Donation Contest
Matthew Rosenberg is a member of the comics elite, a superstar writer EX-X-XCLUSIVE to Marvel Comics and past writer of X-Men and Punisher and current writer of the best Hawkeye series to come out this year, Hawkeye: Freefall. But once, Rosenberg was a certified indy darling, writer of such books as We Can Never Go Home and 4 Kids Walk Into a Bank. But has Rosenberg let all that fame and fortune go to his head?
No, Bleeding Cool can once again EX-X-XCLUSIVELY verify that he's still, he's still Matty from the Block. Rosenberg took to Twitter, a social media service he quit earlier this year after reaching the pinnacle of his social media career, to offer to send readers two rare variants for Hawkeye: Freefall #1, in stores now.
All readers need do is make a charitable donation of five dollars or more to the Global Foundation for Children with Hearing Loss, in the spirit of the titular archer's own disability, and then hit Matty up via email. He'll then choose one person and send them the variants by Elizabeth Torque and Dave Cockrum, and proving just how humble he remains, he'll sign the books "or not, it's your call." What a guy!
Of course, helping others is its own reward, right? So even if you don't win, you win.
Hawkeye: Freefall #1, for those who don't manage to win the contest, can be found in your local comic shop.

When a mysterious and ruthless new Ronin starts tearing a destructive path through the city, suspicion immediately falls on Hawkeye, but Clint has more to worry about than who's wearing his old costume. After a clash with the Hood ends badly, Hawkeye gives himself a new mission that will place him in the crosshairs of one of New York's most dangerous villains. Hawkeye's mission and Ronin's secret plans will set them on a collision course that only one of them will walk away from. Fan favorite Clint Barton returns in a brand new series from Matthew Rosenberg (UNCANNY X-MEN, THE PUNISHER) and Otto Schmidt (Green Arrow).
