"Prodigal Son" Episode 13 "Wait & Hope": Can Bright Find the Wisdom He Needs in Those Two Words? [PREVIEW]
After being tortured, stabbed, and visited by Internal Affairs to establish his sanity over several episodes of FOX's Prodigal Son, Bright's (Tom Payne) urged by Gil (Lou Diamond Philips) takes a mandated vacation, sort off. Clearly his leave of absence is cut short; pulled away from leisure under duress, or because he couldn't resist profiling a homicide inspired by The Count of Monte Cristo? So why does he need Dr. Whitly's help (Michael Sheen)?
"Prodigal Son" season 1, episode 13 "Wait & Hope": Malcolm takes a detour from his mandated vacation time when he finds out a killer on the loose is mimicking homicides from one his favorite children's books, "The Count of Monte Cristo." With added help from a very excited Martin Whitly, the NYPD trace the case back to a high society family planning one of the biggest weddings of the season, so Malcolm and Dani get dressed up to attend the event and track down their culprit. Meanwhile, Jessica scores an invite herself and is eager to make her return to the New York elite
The Surgeon is out of solitary and eager to assist Bright in solving the case. Is Bright there to seek assistance, or get answers as to why his father tried to kill him when he was a little boy? Whatever happened to the girl in the box? Does her identify even matter anymore? Given that the killer might have something to do with the elite, maybe Dr. Whitley can shed light into possibly suspects, technically Jessica (Bellamy Young) should be able to assist with that, so why seek out his father's help. They really do have a very toxic relationship, which neither one is eager to sever.
I'm excited to see Dani (Aurora Perrineau) and Malcolm team up to attend the event – will romantic sparks fly? Does having your mom there put breaks on the possibility of an intimate moment – or maybe, I'm way off base here. Let's see what happens next week with "Wait & Hope" – but for now, check out the following preview images:
