Brian Azzarello Sees Wonder Woman Differently To The Rest Of DC, Scott Snyder Promises Poison Ivy In Zero Year And Dan DiDio Is Waiting For Stephanie Brown To Come Up Naturally
At the Boston Comic Con, Dan DiDio led the DC Comics panel, a little smaller in size than San Diego a couple of weeks ago.
And Scott Snyder, Tony Daniel, Brian Azzarello, and Aaron Lopresti seemed a little less pressured by PR reps. Especially Azzarello who appeared to want to be anywhere else.
Scott Snyder told people that Batman Inc's Professor Pyg might appear in future Batman, but definitely stated that Poison Ivy would be in Zero Year. He also, rather spoilery, revealed the true nature of the Red Hood Gang, and its origins, but I'm not going there. He'd had beer.
Tony Daniel told the crowd that Doomsday and Zod would appear in Wonder Woman/Superman.
And Brian Azzarello told Boston that he sees Wonder Woman radically differently to the rest of DC Comics. And her comic is certainly evidence of that. When DiDio asked him how he felt about the whole Wonder Woman/Superman romance in light of the groundwork he was laying with Orion, he responded, "Clearly not the way DC feels about it."
An apparently flustered Didio added "For those of you who missed the subtext, transcripts of Brian's comments will be available outside."
Azzarello shouted down people who tried to ask multiple questions, and he yelled "Do you really think he's dead?" when someone brought up Damian.
But it was Stephanie Brown's mention that got people the most agitated, with Dan DiDio responded to questions about her absence saying that they don't want to rush fan-favourite characters, just because people want to see her, DC wants the character to emerge naturally.
No I didn't buy it either…
