Christian Cipollini And Seth Ferranti To Tell The Story Of Lucky Luciano
Christian Cipollini is an award-winning true crime author and organized crime historian. Seth Ferranti is a former LSD kingpin turned crime writer. Together, along with a variety of artists, are creating a new comic series called Gangster. The first issue focuses on the true life of Charles "Lucky" Luciano starting with his near death experience in 1929.
Gangster #1 is written by Cipollini, illustrated by Yevgeniy Frantsev, lettered by Micah Myers, edited/colored by Anthony R. Mathenia and published by Ferranti's The GR1ND.
The goal is to take American comics into new frontiers by pairing urban-fiction writers like Wahida Clark (NYT, Ebony Bestseller) and true-crime historians like Christian Cipollini (A&E Biography, History Channel) with indie comic illustrators, explains Ferranti. Together they are creating compelling tales of criminal enterprise and gangster lore not seen since the Comic Code.
