You Can Pre-Order The Complete Eightball Special Edition Now From Fantagraphics

Since 1989, Eightball has been consistently grouped with the best-selling independently authored comics. Now, we can have some really fine editions collecting them too. From Fantagraphic Books comes The Complete Eightball Special Edition, in a 2-volume box set which will contain all of the comics along with a glicee print created by Daniel Clowes. The Special Edition is strictly limited to 250 signed and numbered editions, produced by Glazamer Studio. These artist-autographed archival prints also come with professional-grade permanence ratings ensuring decades, or even centuries of "material integrity and color fidelity".

Early issues of Eightball featured a mixture of very short, often crudely humorous comics such as Zubrick, topical rants and satires such as Art School Confidential, and some longer self-contained stories such as Immortal Invisible. Like a Velvet Glove Cast in Iron, was the first extended story to be serialized and ran for ten issues.

A little fun fact: Upon researching the comic I discovered that there was some controversy with the comic years ago involving a teacher and a student. The teacher gave the student issue #22 of Eightball as a make-up summer reading assignment, but the parents weren't too happy about it and actually messed up the teacher's job. It's funny, things like that often entice people to read things more! If you're looking to add this special edition to your collection don't wait too long to do it. The orders are on a first-come first serve basis and will surely move quickly. The Complete Eightball Special Edition will go for $250.00 plus shipping.
