Diane Nelson, Dan DiDio and Drinks…

Last year, Diane Nelson, formerly president of DC Entertainment, joined Jeffrey Katzenberg's short-form video publisher/distributor/platform Quibi. She joined former HP CEO Meg Whitman and former co-president and CCO of The Hollywood Reporter Janice Min. And somehow the Hollywood Reporter had that scoop. They have been making lots of announcements over deals for ten minute video serialised shorts, with names such as Guillermo del Toro and Sam Raim attached. With eight figures in funding from the likes of major studios and Alibaba, they will spent half of that on pre-launch programming alone.

So it was admittedly of interest when two days ago, Diane Nelson posted on Instagram a photo of her meeting Dan DiDio, publisher of DC Comics, for drinks.

Could this be related to the DC Universe App? Could there be DC Universe content more suited in ten minute bursts for Quibi?

Or, could it have something to do with the sudden departure of Kevin Tsujihara, Warner Bros Chairman and CEO after The Hollywood Reporter published a allegations of sexual corruption at Warner Bros.? There is a very senior position suddenly open now…

Or just old friends meeting up to chew the fat?

We'll try and keep an ear out. Or keep checking the Hollywood Reporter.
