In the midst of all of the solicitation information coming out from Dynamite Entertainment, there was one book that should have gotten a bigger notice… and I have a feeling the publisher will be doing just that this week. The Shadow #100 features stories written by Matt Wagner, Francesco Francavilla, Howard Chaykin, Chris Roberson, Victor Gischler and Michael Uslan. Kind of the who's who of Shadow writers for Dynamite. On top of that you have art by Wagner, Francavilla, Chaykin and Giovanni Timpano and it clocks in at 48 pages… plus there are covers by Wagner and Robert Hack. This is a really nice book.
But some of you may be asking how they came up with issue #100? Actually Bluedevil2002 asked that exact question on Dynamite's message boards as he could only come up with 77 books. I tried and only got to 76… so I got a hold of the publisher himself, Nick Barrucci who told me that the book's editor Molly Mahan counted up all the Shadow titles they have published including specials, one-shots, miniseries and reprints and came up with this being issue #100. And I've met Molly… if she says it's issue #100 then it's issue #100.
So check the next issue of Previews for The Shadow #100 and let your retailers know you want a copy.
