Sampling is a key marketing activity. Getting your prospective audience to try something out in the hope that they like it so much, that the next time they'll happily pay full whack.

It something it seems Marvel is planning to do with its recent All-New Marvel Now launches, featuring, quite intentionally it seems, what some might call B list characters. And what others, less kindly, might call D List characters.

Avengers #27 will now contain the full All-New Invaders #1 in the back as bonus content.

While Superior Spider-Man #30 will now contain the full Black Widow #1. Both issues will be remain $3.99 apiece.

So does sampling work on you? Is it likely this might turn an Avengers or a Spider-Man reader to add a new book to their stack?

And what about those who have already bought the issues in question at full price?
