Hannah Means-Shannon Returns to Heavy Metal Magazine

Hannah Means-Shannon was a longstanding contributor at Bleeding Cool and its editor-in-chief for two years. She then worked at Dark Horse Comics, was EIC for Comicon.com and as a Senior Editor for the longstanding sc-fi and fantasy comics anthology Heavy Metal Magazine. Last month, Bleeding Cool reported ructions at Heavy Metal, and reprinted Hannah Means-Shannon's open letter that talked about her decision to walk out. It showed her in conflict with Heavy Metal owners Paul Reder and Llexi Leon, after Jeff Krelitz was removed as CEO of Heavy Metal, and she talked about issues regarding Heavy Metal creator rights, and the attitude of the owners,

I've been hounded from my job by bullying and I no longer feel it is a safe environment for me to do my work. I'm sorry to all the creators that I have worked with and was currently working with that this has happened, but please understand that bullying cannot be tolerated in the work place, and particularly as a female editor, I cannot let it continue. If you're wondering why I don't speak to HR to resolve this issue, Heavy Metal doesn't have an HR department or an HR officer. I have no recourse. I have given my notice at Heavy Metal and will continue wrapping up my projects for 10 days from today.

Today, however, she posted on social media.

For those following Heavy Metal news, I have returned to work there under new management. They agreed to my terms to return and the two people who caused problems for me previously have been removed from working on the magazine because of their behavior.

Bleeding Cool reported on Matthew Medney, the new CEO of Heavy Metal Magazine yesterday. But this means that Hannah, basically, fired her bosses. We wish her well.
