I Just Read The First 5 Pages Of Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Dragons #1 And…

Wow. Talk about a comic that starts with adventure. I've been looking forward to the release of Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Dragons #1, from Archaia, written by Daniel Bayliss & Fabian Rangel Jr. with art by, Bayliss, for months and months. I read the run of Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Witches, and really enjoyed that. Therefore it was a guarantee that this was going to be as good. I think it's a safe bet to assume that anything with the Jim Henson seal of approval is going to be enjoyable.

As with the Witches series, we got a few different tales. The same goes for this one. Jim Henson's The Storyteller: Dragons #1 brings us "Son of the Serpent," inspired by Native American stories about the Horned Snake and the Thunderbird.

I think the good judge of a comic is how much it hooks you within the first five pages. Sure, sometimes you need a bit more time to build up the characters and the plot, but at the end of the day, if you haven't caught my attention in the beginning, you're most likely not going to catch it. The beginning of this issue brings us into a cozy scene where we are greeted by an old man and his dog. He is the narrator of the story. From there, we are jolted into a tale about a father and son that will have your heart racing. Don't believe me? See for yourself…
