Jeph Loeb's DC Comics Get Translated Into Malay By Local Publisher

fb_screenshot_fixi2204_620_463_100It was only recently that DC Comics debuted a new character, Obscura, their first Malaysian super powered character, and based on the real-life intelligence analyst and Malaysian national Munira Mustaffa.

Well, now their comics are to be translated into the local language for the first time by a Malaysian publisher. Kuala Lumpar publisher Buku Fixi has secured the rights to translate the back catalogue of DC Comics into Malay with the launch of Grafixi,a new imprint for graphic novels.

They will begin with Superman/Batman: Public Enemies and Supergirl at the end of the month, both written by Jeph Loeb. Other non-Loeb titles re expected to follow.

The publisher was started by local Amir Muhammad after he realised that the only Malay titles nominated for awards were romance titles and saw a gap in the market to publish urban pulp fiction in Malay…
