Judge Dredd Takes On the Scottish Referendum This Week

You might have noticed, there's a Scottish referendum going on. The vote is Thursday. As Tharg says….

2000AD has a long Scottish tradition. John Wagner, who grew up in Greenock is Judge Dredd co-creator, was one a Highland mansion caretaker and worked for Dundee-based DC Thomson, where many other 2000AD creators worked, such another Dredd co-creator Pat Mills. Other popular Scottish Dredd writers and artists include Cam Kennedy, Alan Grant, Frank Quitely, Grant Morrison, Robbie Morrison, Mark Millar, Gary Erskine, Jim Alexander, Colin MacNeil and more. Grant and Wagner also created Kenny Who?, named after Dennis O'Neill's misunderstanding of Cam Kennedy's first introduction to him in a broad Scots accent, resident of the 2000AD Scotland, Calhab, the Caledonian Hab Zone…

Basically, 2000AD may be based in Oxford. But Scots is in its blood…
