Long Walk To Valhalla Is Sure To Be Another Compelling Archaia Release

Archaia is constantly releasing special stories, so I always keep my eyes peeled for what's next on their list. Long Walk to Valhalla, written by Adam Smith, with art by Matthew Fox (UFOlogy) is a lyrical Sothern fable exploring loss, family, and what it means to truly come home. The story follows main character Rory, who would like to forget about his childhood growing up in rural Arkansas. Sometimes, he'd even like to forget about Joe, his mentally challenged older brother, both his closest friend and biggest problem. But when a young girl named Sylvia shows up, claiming to be a Valkyrie sent by the Norse god Odin to deliver Rory to Valhalla, he will have to face the past he's tried to lock away.

Well, I'm already hooked. Upon reading the description at first, I felt like I could sympathize with Rory's character, but when I read the brief part about how Sylvia comes into his life, I knew this would be a special piece of work. That's the thing about Archaia…they take these incredibly unique memorable stories and share them with the world. I don't think I've ever picked up a book by Archaia that didn't make a mark on me in some way as a reader. Long Walk to Valhalla is said to appeal to fans of Blankets, Fun Home, and I Kill Giants. I've read Blankets, and I found that to be a very realistic look at the way some people are brought up, done in a tasteful way. If Long Walk to Valhalla is anything like that, it will be a success. I look forward to the books release in July.
