Well now we know why. Currently, Diamond Comic Distributors is running a retailer lunch meeting at San Diego Comic-Con, and Bleeding Cool has some friendly types in the room, letting us know what is what. And right now that's the Marvel Comics presentation, as Marvel are still sub-distributed to many comic book stores via Diamond. And Marvel editor-in-chief C.B. Cebulski is in the room letting retailers know what is coming down the pipe. Right now, that means killing off Deadpool in Deadpool #7 out in October. And replacing him in the title with a female Deadpool, called Ellie Wilson.
What her relationship is to Wade Winston Wilson, the Prime Deadpool, is, well, I am sure that will all be made clear at some point in the not-too-distant future. But, for now Marvel is all about the tease at San Diego Comic-Con and as you can see, this Ellie Wilson does not look like the Lady Deadpool of the comic books and the movies. You may speculate as to what relationship she is right now..
We have seen the Diamond Retailer Lunch return at San Diego Comic-Con. Thanks to Mark Fenton and Heather Stirewalt on the scene at San Diego Comic-Con for helping us out in one hell of a pinch.
