Marvel's Mutant X Returns to Print with a Complete Collection… Sort of… in September
Fans of alternate universe X-Men stories might be interested to know that Marvel's September solicitations revealed that Mutant X is getting a "Complete Collection" in trade paperback in September. Well, to be fair, it's only half a "Complete Collection," but with the promise of a second volume to complete the set.
Having nothing to do with the TV show (which came after) that Marvel tried to use to get around having sold its X-Men rights to Fox, Mutant X tells the story of Alex Summers, Havok, spinning out of the final issue of the first X-Factor series, as he pulls a Freaky Friday mutant style with a different Havok from an alternate universe where Havok leads an X-Men-like team called The Six. In that universe, he's married to Madelyne Prior, and Scott Summers is… well, we won't spoil anything, in case you haven't read it, or you read it so long ago you've forgotten. Mutant X, after all, is not available on ComiXology or Marvel Unlimited.

When Alex Summers, A.K.A. Havok, is thrown into a parallel world, he displaces his counterpart and finds himself leading a mutant team with familiar — yet very different — faces! The Six are the Brute, the Fallen, Ice-Man, Bloodstorm and Marvel Woman — better known as Havok's wife, Madelyne Pryor! Life is suddenly a lot more complicated for Havok, especially because his teammates don't believe his claims about being in the wrong universe! But things really get messy when one of the Six puts plans in motion to take over their world — stoking the fires of anti-mutant sentiment! Witness this dimension's versions of Wolverine, Elektra, Nick Fury, Gambit, Magneto, the Fantastic Four and more! But where are the X-Men? And can Havok find a way home before this dangerous dimension becomes the death of him? Collecting MUTANT X #1-17 and ANNUAL 1999.
