Batman And Robin #18 Brings You The Feels

Batman And Robin #18 is published today, the first issue after that issue of Batman Inc.
It is silent, and dark. Yet for every panel filled with ink, there is emptiness. A gap. A vacuum. Something missing. The mind tries to fill that gap.
But ends up giving us a Judge Dredd chin.
So how does Batman show his grief? By taking out a lamp post, the kind that Damian would often squat on, as Batman does above. It seems such a silly thing, but the detail of the art, the kinetic energy on the page is outstanding, it feels like this could be a classic scene to carry down the ages. Batman Vs Lamppost seems just so stupid, but it is carried out in such a convincing and impactful fashion. It really works.
Not everyone shows their grief in such a fashion however. Alfred Pennyworth does it by cosplaying as Vito Corleone.
There are drawings, there are letters, there are reflections, there are costumes. And there is grief of a father, finding the way h's always found to deal with that. Book of the week, folks, book of the week.
