ABC News have named one James Holmes, 24, of North Aurora, as the man arrested at the scene of the Denver cinema massacre during the midnight screening of the The Dark Knight Rises, wearing a a bullet-proof vest and riot helmet. He was captured in the car park outside the cinema with a gas mask, rifle, and handgun. And it is his apartment block which has been evacuated and searched as a result of fears of further action.
The Washington Examiner is asking whether or not the Denver Dark Knight Massacre was based on a scene in The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller, the tone of which has informed much of the current Christian Bale Batman trilogy, as well as lending it its Dark Knight title.
