Avatar Flying In To London – MCM Expo And Orbital Comics Signings

Avatar_Press_Signing_303One publisher. One country. Two events.

This weekend in London, it's the MCM London Expo. The film-TV-media show that transformed into the UK's biggest comics convention by discovering that the UK had a massive manga reading crowd – and that most of them were female. And once 30,000 people descended upon the London's East End dressed in Sailor Moon costumes, those who had been circling looking for a way to bring back the glory days of the London comic convention, the UKCAC, descended to create a Comics Village section. The likes of Markosia and the Manga Shakespeare folk are boomed at these shows. And now its time for the Americans to arrive.

Avatar will be exhibiting at the show, with Crossed artist Jacen Burrows and Freakangels artist Paul Duffield on hand. Oh and me as well, naturally. But that's not all.

If some of you Londoners just can't cope with all those Zelda costumes to see your favourite artists, Orbital Comics off Leicester Square will be hosting an evening with Avatar and Bleeding Cool on Tuesday, with me, William Christensen, Paul Duffield, Jacen Burrows as well as upcoming Avatar creators Si Spurrier and Kieron Gillen (you know, the one who's writing Thor now). It sarts at 4.30 till 7pm.

Not only that but you'll be able to buy a copy of Freakangels Volume 3 two days before its official UK release (and one day before its UK release) nicely signed by Paul Duffield, with which to taunt your non-Freakangels 3-buying friends.

Taunt them! Taunt them!!!
